Bitterley Court and Henley Hall are neighbouring estates located a few miles outside Ludlow, just over an hour from Birmingham. Set in glorious Shropshire countryside the combined estates cover some 3,500 acres within an area known as the Ludlow Marches, in the centre of the Welsh Marches, an area of unforgettable and varied natural beauty on the slopes of the Shropshire Hills. Ludlow, with its medieval castle, is a short drive away and offers a wealth of hotels and restaurants.
The estate has a bespoke gun room with log burner which can be used for breakfast and hot meals, as well as providing shelter during breaks on wet days.Bag sizes: 200 - 500 Pheasant and Partridge, with days available from Mondays through to Saturdays, as well as multi-day shoot programmes, enabling guns to enjoy our other estates.A shoot bus is available for full teams by prior arrangement.
Our emphasis is on providing quality throughout, from terrain, our range of drives and bird presentation, to food, drink, and accommodation. We are passionate about creating a memorable experience for our guests.
We normally meet between 9am and 9:30am in the Gun Room. Breakfast on arrival, followed by the drawing of the pegs and shoot talk.
Two morning drives, followed by elevenses in the field, serving delicious fresh local produce and game, with further drives before returning for a hot meal in the Gun Room.
A shoot bus is available for full teams by prior arrangement
Full English Breakfast is provided and breaks in the field are accompanied by traditional "Gin and Fizz" as well as hot and cold refreshment and elevenses featuring local produce and often game dishes cooked freshly in the field by our friendly host staff. At the end of the day, we return to the Gun Room for a shoot meal.
